Job Description

Under supervision of the Senior Cook Supervisor, the cook prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner for groups ranging in size from 10-150. Coordinates portion size and cooking times in order to serve all customers a quality product. Prepares weekly menu and shopping lists, while coordinating scheduled deliveries from vendors. Provides back up support to the Senior Cook Supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

No Minimum Education required

Experience in industrial food service, cooking and serving for large groups.

Experience working with a number of vendors, keeping track of supplies, invoices and deliveries.

Experience creating menus and supply orders using word processing programs and email.

Experience using email to communicate with staff.

Skill to judge proper portion size and coordinate cooking times of various dishes so they can all be served at once.

Preferred Qualifications

Service Safe Certified

Experience cooking and serving food in an institutional setting.

Experience placing supply orders via computer, telephone, fax and vendor websites.

Catering experience preparing, transporting to various locations, and serving meals while under time constraints and heavy work load.

Knowledge of preparing menu items to individuals with food allergies and dietary restrictions.

Work Environment
