The opportunity Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for part-time Cook Crew Members to join our team at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Cook Crew Member, you will help to bring the epic story of the U.S. space program to life.

Available for eligible team members, part-time team members must earn eligibility.

What will you do

Handling chopping, assembling, cooking, and serving a wide variety of foods. Safely operate, sanitize, and clean all equipment including that used for food service. Comply with all property and departmental standards as they pertain to safety and security. You may be regularly required to drive yourself to a remote work location where public transportation is not available and you will be asked to show NASA credentials for entry. After 6 months of start date, you are eligible to transfer to operations and retail departments. Drive a company vehicle as needed. All other duties as assigned.

More about you

Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Prior experience as a cook is required. Attention to detail is essential. Must be able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Must be available to work weekends and holidays and to work on-call by being scheduled within 24 hours. Must be able to obtain a food handlers certification. Must be able to pass a Delaware North and NASA background check and receive a NASA ID badge. Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to drive yourself to and from work. Physical requirements

Able to stand for long periods of time, including walking, bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, and stretching. Able to work in both hot and cold environments. Ability to handle or operate dangerous kitchen equipment. Able to lift 20 lbs and up to 50 lbs with assistance. Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders. Includes indoor and outdoor work environments.
