We are excited to announce the opening of a new location in Flint, Michigan, and we're seeking a talented Cook to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks that meet the needs of our growing students.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of healthy and age-appropriate meals and snacks for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea, following USDA MyPlate guidelines and adhering to all state and local health regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
- Portion control and ensure proper food presentation.
- Order and maintain inventory of food supplies.
- Follow sanitation and safety protocols.
- Accommodate children with dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding meal schedules and any dietary needs.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, fostering a welcoming environment for children.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a childcare or school cafeteria setting.
- ServSafe® Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Strong understanding of child nutrition and healthy meal preparation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and a passion for working with children.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
