We’re hiring cooks at all experience levels, from Prep through Line Cook 3 (advanced). Location: Pinky's at The Beach - 1 Center St, Folly Beach, SC 29439

Pay: $19-23 per hour + $500 sign-on bonus ($250 after 3 months of service & $250 after 6 months!)

POSITION SUMMARY

Cooks at Pinky’s on the Beach support all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, station setup, cooking, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Responsibilities vary based on experience level, ranging from prep-focused tasks to full station execution during service.

All roles contribute to delivering consistent, high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete prep lists and assigned tasks from kitchen leadership
  • Wash, chop, portion, and prepare ingredients including vegetables, meats, and sauces
  • Set up and stock stations for service
  • Execute recipes consistently and efficiently
  • Perform cooking techniques appropriate to skill level (prep, sauté, grill, fry, etc.)
  • Maintain proper labeling, dating, rotation, and storage of food products
  • Ensure portion control and recipe accuracy
  • Keep kitchen, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with inventory and communicate product needs
  • Complete opening and closing duties
  • Maintain awareness of safety hazards and report concerns
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support smooth service

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience:

  • Entry-level candidates welcome (Prep Cook level)
  • 1+ years of kitchen experience preferred for Line Cook roles
  • Advanced experience required for Line Cook 3
  • Placement and responsibilities will align with experience level

Skills:

  • Basic to advanced knife skills depending on level
  • Understanding of cooking methods and kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation (ServSafe preferred)
  • Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

Equipment Used:
Ovens, grills, fryers, stoves, mixers, food processors, knives, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and move for extended periods
  • Perform repetitive motions and handle tools safely
  • Bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Maintain stamina in a high-energy kitchen environment

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced commercial kitchen
  • Exposure to heat, open flames, sharp tools, and hot surfaces
  • Tight working spaces with a team
  • High noise levels and varying temperatures (including walk-in freezers)
