Work Year: 173 calendar days

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday Friday

Reports To: Multi-Site Kitchen Manager

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with food preparation and serving food; assists with cleaning. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Selected candidates must work quickly within time limits, be capable of anticipating needs, and have the ability to adapt and accommodate changes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with food production and prepares all required items according to USDA guidelines.
  • Serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
  • Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • Maintains a neat, professional appearance and conducts and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
  • Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
  • Receive and check all incoming orders according to HACCP guidelines
  • Assist in maintaining stock rotation
  • Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor

Skill Requirements:

  • Computer/Point of Sale (POS)
  • Some knowledge of commercial cooking and baking
  • Commercial cooking equipment
  • Basic math
  • Effective communication
  • Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting 5 to 20 pounds

Clearance: Must clear online background check and FBI Fingerprint check through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Positions that qualify for health benefits also qualify for leave, which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). All employees are required by statute to contribute 11% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA. The District also contributes a 20.15% in addition to the employee contribution.
