Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand basic cooking terms and practices and adhere to kitchen regulations and sanitation practices (Serv Safe a plus!)
  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
  • Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
  • Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
  • Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and specials diet orders.
  • Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray.
  • Review care plans to assure that current dietary information is consistent with foods served.
  • Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Prior industrial/commercial kitchen/cook experience
  • Able to read, write and understand English
  • Dependable, adaptable to change and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Accurate and organized
  • Full-Time 37.5 hours/week (including alternate Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Able to work overtime or flexible shifts when needed.

Compensation:

  • Rate will be commensurate with experience.
