Summary:

The Cooks basic function is to prepare and cook food according to established procedures, recipes, menus, meal assignment, and diets.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares food.

  2. Follow ServSafe sanitary policies and procedures for preparation, storage and service of food.

  3. Completes cleaning and sanitation assignments.

  4. Processes, stores, and utilizes leftover foods.

  5. Instructs and assists meal servers.

  6. Supports and promotes Wayne UNC Health Cares Guest Relations Policy.

  7. Supports Wayne UNC Health Cares Corporate Compliance efforts.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required, any higher education from an accredited college will supersede this requirement.

Experience

  • At least one year experience as a cook in an institutional/restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to speak, read, write and communicate effectively

Valid NC Drivers License: No.

(If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.)
