We are seeking a skilled Cook to help deliver a high-quality dining experience for approximately 80 residents. This role supports the Executive Chef by preparing entrees, soups, desserts and other menu items using sound culinary techniques, scratch-cooking preparation, efficient production, and thoughtful presentation. The idea; candidate is organized, safety-focused, comfortable multitasking in a busy kitchen, and committed to enhancing both resident satisfaction and our reputation as a strong culinary team.
Key Responsibilities :
- With a high-risk population, safety and sanitation are a priority
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in scratch cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
- Plate presentations with fine dining techniques
- Communicate directly with residents to receive feedback on the prepared meals
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check the quality of ingredients
- May perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience cooking in a scratch kitchen
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills, strong teamwork, organization, and multitasking skills
- Good physical condition and stamina for a full kitchen shift
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fine dining experience
- Day shift availability
