Cook - Lutheran Hospital

Legacy Staffing has partnered with a world-class hospital in Cleveland, OH to hire a Cook. We are hiring for first and mid-shift opportunities with a pay rate of $15/hour based on experience and skill level.  This role focuses on food preparation, cooking, food safety compliance, customer service, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment while supporting patient and guest dining services.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare, cook, and garnish food items according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and food production standards.
• Monitor food quality, complete production sheets and temperature logs, and ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by completing assigned cleaning duties and adhering to all sanitation and safety regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors, clients, and coworkers.
• Assist with room service operations and other food service functions as needed.
• Set up and maintain workstations to support efficient food production and service.
• Comply with Cleveland Clinic operational standards, OSHA regulations, and all local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

• Ability to read, follow, and adjust recipes using conversion charts to increase or decrease portions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well under time constraints and maintain high-quality standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and tolerate temperature fluctuations in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and push/pull carts weighing up to 350 lbs.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred 

Shift Details: 

• 1st Shift; 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM; rotating weekends and holidays
• Mid-Shift: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM; rotating weekends and holidays
