Job Summary:
John-Wesley Villas is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team. This role is essential in preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our senior residents while ensuring a high standard of food quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation and a passion for providing excellent dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and maintains quality and presentation standards.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with meal planning and inventory management.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and food storage areas.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth meal service.
- Accommodate special dietary needs and resident preferences as necessary.
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage of perishable items.
- Report any kitchen equipment maintenance needs to supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Culinary school certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and management multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand, talk, and lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
