Tin Roost in North Liberty is hiring Cooks to join our kitchen team.

Tin Roost is a locally owned restaurant known for its scratch kitchen, extensive whiskey selection, rotating craft beer offerings, and welcoming atmosphere. With over 400 seats, private event spaces, and a large outdoor patio, our kitchen team plays a key role in creating memorable experiences for every Guest who walks through our doors.

Compensation for fully trained Cooks starts at $15-$22 per hour based on experience

Schedule

  • Part-time position
  • Approximately 20-30 hours per week
  • Evening and weekend availability required

What You'll Do

  • Prepare ingredients, sauces, and menu components according to recipes and kitchen standards
  • Set up and stock workstations before service
  • Cook menu items using a variety of cooking methods including grilling, sautéing, frying, and roasting
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, labeling, and storage procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout the shift
  • Assist with inventory organization, food rotation, and storage documentation
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and fellow team members during service
  • Support additional kitchen duties and projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the duration of a shift
  • Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and move up to 40 pounds
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
