Cook

The Portage School District is currently seeking cook positiosn. This position is for 5.75 hours per day during the school year. Hours 7:30 am to 1:15 pm

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Conform to current safety and sanitation standards.

2. Use every opportunity to help educate students in good nutritional habits.

3. Cooks are responsible for duties assigned by the supervisor.

4. Maintain a cheerful, positive attitude and good relationship with co-workers, staff, students, and parents.

5. Complete at least 6 hours of annual continuing education training to maintain license.

6. Handling money and computer knowledge are required.

7. Daily tasks;

a) Helps prepare food and baking.

b) Read, follow and create production sheets.

c) Assist with the scanning of student breakfast and lunches.

d) Serves in the lunch line.

e) Cleaning duties; kitchen area, milk coolers, tables, chairs, floor mopping and other kitchen areas as assigned.

f) Clean trays, wash dishes and run dishwasher.

g) Recycle materials.

8. Assume supervisor duties in their absence. Fill in for all Head Cook positions.
