About the role
Hotel Bardo Savannah is seeking dependable and motivated Cooks to join our culinary team. This broad culinary opportunity is designed for candidates with experience across prep, pantry, production, grill, sauté, banquet, or line cooking. Position level and kitchen assignment will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, technical skills, and demonstrated potential.
Our Cooks work closely with the Chef and Sous Chef team to prepare high-quality food, maintain an organized and professional kitchen, and deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
This is an onsite position located at Hotel Bardo Savannah.
What you'll do
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations.
- Support kitchen preparation, production, and station setup based on assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain proper food quality, portioning, temperature, and timing throughout service.
- Communicate clearly with culinary leadership regarding preparation needs, product levels, and unavailable items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, storage, labeling, and kitchen safety standards.
- Assist other culinary stations and team members as needed to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary team.
Qualifications
- Previous culinary or food preparation experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environment.
- Experience may include prep, pantry, production, grill, sauté, banquet, or line cooking.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen equipment, and safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established culinary standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Ability to remain composed and productive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement.
