Cook Dishes, Lift/Move 50 Pounds, Nursing, Prescription Drugs, Quality Metrics, Sanitation
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and store food following established sanitation and quality standards
- Prepare food according to standardized recipes in correct amounts needed for residents and personnel
- Prepare food for special diets as prescribed by physicians and assigned by nurse including individual breakfast and supper orders
- Protect food in all phases of preparation following MS State guidelines
- Maintain proper time and temperature controls during food preparation
- Operate electric, gas and steam cooking equipment and cooking utensils safely safely following standard guidelines
- Wash and sanitize dishes, silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, stoves, cooking equipment, cupboards, storage room and floors
- Serve residents, employees and guests in facility dining room
Education and/or Work Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Must be able to read recipes, follow instructions and document temperatures and maintenance charts
- ServSafe certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comply with dress code, hand/nail hygiene, personal grooming and appearance rules. Must wear apron, gloves, and hair net while working in kitchen
