The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Compass Group to find qualified candidates for a Cook Supervisor in Staten Island, New York. Position Overview:

The Cook Supervisor oversees daily food-service operations by supervising and supporting food-service associates to ensure efficient kitchen operations. This role is responsible for assigning work, training staff, maintaining food quality, and ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and HACCP guidelines. The Cook Supervisor also assists with meal service, helps manage inventory and supplies, and promotes a safe, organized, and customer-focused dining experience.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train, and direct food-service associates during daily operations.
  • Assign work, monitor performance, and address employee concerns.
  • Ensure food quality, portion control, and compliance with approved recipes and production standards.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines and sanitation procedures to maintain safe food handling practices.
  • Manage food storage, labeling, dating, and product rotation to reduce waste.
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment according to safety procedures.
  • Assist with meal service and communicate with customers to receive feedback.
  • Help manage supplies, prevent shortages, and support efficient kitchen operations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of food-service experience required.
  • Knowledge of food safety procedures and HACCP guidelines required.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations required.
  • Experience supervising and training employees required.
  • Experience assigning work and maintaining food quality standards required.
  • Experience managing inventory required.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety requirements required.
Pay Range: USD $21.00 - USD $21.00 /Hr.
