This role blends cooking instruction, live presentation, customer engagement, and kitchen operations.
The Cooking School Instructor applies basic to advanced culinary skills, techniques, tools, and subject matter knowledge to support cooking classes and food education programs. The role requires strong communication skills, hands-on food preparation experience, and the ability to teach cooking concepts clearly to a wide audience.
Design and teach engaging cooking school classes that attract and retain an audience.
Shop for class ingredients and supplies and assist with recipe and class preparation.
Set up cooking school classes.
Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, safe, and in proper working order.
Help maintain sanitation and cleanliness across the kitchen and class areas.
Deliver excellent customer service and use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
Explain cooking techniques, flavor profiles, ingredients, and food trends to guests clearly and engagingly.
Continue building knowledge of products, culinary techniques, and emerging food trends.
Cooking School Instructor Profile:
2 to 5 years of related experience in restaurants, catering, food service, or culinary instruction preferred.
Culinary school coursework, degree, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
Previous food preparation experience required.
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, food presentation, ingredients, and culinary trends preferred.
Ability to speak effectively to groups, present confidently, and communicate in a clear, organized manner.
Flexible availability is needed, including days, evenings, and weekends.
