Description

Duties of the Position:

Encourages and promotes the academic, career, and personal/social development for all students. Work collaboratively with other teachers. Teacher of a classroom that is composed mostly of at-risk students who benefit from a smaller class size, increased academic and social/emotional support, smaller teacher/student ratio and a strong sense of community. This teacher will be responsible for academic instruction in all core subjects.

Special Skills Required:

Must be certified or eligible to teach Early/Middle Childhood Adolescence (grades 1-8) Special Education licensure is preferred for this position. The ability to establish strong, trusting, positive relationships with students. The ability to promote confidence in student learning as well as have strong classroom management skills. Training and/or experience in PBIS, trauma sensitivity and responsive classroom preferred but not necessary.
