The Role:

The Human Resource Coordinator will assist in a variety of Human Resource related functions such as benefits, employee training and development, employee relations, preparing training documentation for employees, reporting, communication with Union grievances, job descriptions, and onboarding. Processes bi-weekly payroll.

What You'll Do:

  • Manages effective employee relations with all employees as it pertains to inquiries on pay, benefits and policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates interviewing process of prospective employees. Facilitates effective recruitment and maintains up-to-date and accurate applicant flow and hiring data. Ensures affirmative action record keeping requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates interviewing process of prospective employees. Conducts interviews with candidates and makes hiring recommendations.
  • Facilitates effective on-boarding programs. Conducts new employee orientations.
  • Maintains hourly employee attendance database and communicates to Supervisors, as per the Attendance Policy.
  • Administers and tracks FMLA program through 3rd party vendor. Communicates employee leave information to necessary parties.
  • Administers hourly job bidding system.
  • Is knowledgeable of the Union Contracts as it relates to pay increases, overtime pay rules, disciplinary procedure etc. Maintains up-to-date record of grievances filed and status. Provides Union requested reports periodically.
  • Acts as facilities designated source for workers' compensation tracking/reporting. Reports all workers' compensation claims to insurance provider under the direction of the HSE Manager. Maintain all related records.
  • Coordinates procurement of temporary employees as needed. Maintains accurate records of temporary employee utilization. Processes invoices for temporary employee services.
  • Assists management in preparation for contract negotiations and strike planning.
  • Responsible for the creation and upkeep of personnel files. Maintains employee files and data related to employee information. Creates EDFs related to new hires, transfer and terminations. Provides monthly period end reporting to management.
  • Participates in and assists management with implementing policy, procedures, and practices involving the Human Resource function.
  • Conducts salary and benefits surveys for bargaining unit positions as required to ensure external equity.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to maintain continual process improvement.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll timely and accurately. Maintains all related records including Etime and Kronos system maintenance.

What You'll Need:

  • Broad knowledge of human resource principles and practices including recruitment and selection, benefit plan administration, training and employee development, contract administration.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management and bargained staff.
  • Above average communication skills.
  • Ability to be entrusted with confidential information.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills.
  • Some college work in the area of HR Management or equivalent work experience.

Bachelors in Human Resource Management preferred.

  • Three to Five years Human Resource experience.
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Professional series.
  • ADP payroll experience a plus.
  • HR certification (SHRM_SCP, SHRM CP, PHR, etc.) or other professional certification a plus.

Salary Range:

Starting Salary Range: $63,200 - $74,400. The pay range listed represents the target hiring range for this position; however, the actual base pay offered to the best talent and fit for the posted role will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge, qualifications and skills, relevant experience, geographical location and internal equity. Future compensation decisions for employees in this role will utilize the full pay range, not solely the typical hiring range.

Compensation is adjusted based on the candidate's local labor market and may vary within this range.
