Job Summary and Qualifications

The Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient-family centered care in the Operating Room (OR) and other areas of the perioperative services for all patient populations. 

What you will do in this role:

  • Expertise in the area of Operating room specialty The coordinator provides expertise care and management of the perioperative specialty. 
  • Patient Rights The RN will work to support and protect the rights of each patient served. Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines & protocols. Supports hospital mission, vision and values. 
  • Patient/Family Education Provides patient/family education as per department and hospital policy and procedure. 
  • Job Knowledge The RN demonstrates technical expertise in areas appropriate to the Unit’s patient population. 
  • Equipment Usage Uses and maintains department equipment according to department and hospital policies. 
  • Information Management/PI Uses and follows hospital and department standards pertaining to information management and performance improvement. 
  • Safety & Disaster Supports Hospital's/Department’s Safety and Disaster Plans. 
  • Age Specific Criteria Communicates and interacts with internal and external customers of various ages taking into consideration the population served. 
  • Attendance Supports hospital and department objectives by adhering to attendance policies. 
  • Attitude/Cooperation Reflects values and a sensitivity to HCA's ethical and compliance principles in daily activities. Demonstrates good skills in all forms of communication. Works well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. 
  • Dependability Demonstrate initiative when performing assigned job duties. Collaborates with management in the formulation of solutions for resolving areas of concern. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions) 
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date 
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date 
  • 2 Years Associate Degree/Diploma 
  • 4 years Bachelor Degree preferred 
  • 1 year minimum experience in OR
