Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.

Job Summary

The Coordinator of Supplemental Instruction (SI) oversees the SI program, supervising approximately 40 SI Leaders each semester as the program continues to grow. This role includes reviewing lesson plans, conducting observations, and providing detailed feedback to enhance SI Leaders ability to implement effective learning strategies. Administrative responsibilities include maintaining an accurate schedule of 150+ weekly SI sessions, managing the SI Leader application & hiring process, monitoring payroll through OneUSG, and keeping comprehensive records of current and past SI Leaders. The Coordinator also promotes SI through social media and other outreach efforts. Training and professional development are key aspects of this role, including leading multi-day SI training sessions each fall & spring, facilitating biweekly training sessions, & collaborating with student assistants to improve attendance and engagement in SI sessions. Additionally, the Coordinator supervises the SI Graduate Assistant, ensuring a meaningful professional development experience focused on SI assessment, training techniques, and tutoring best practices. The Coordinator also serves as a main contact for EAB Navigate, assisting with training, onboarding, outreach, Course Alert implementation, and other student success initiatives.

Responsibilities

1 -

Supervise the SI Leaders (approximately 40; program is growing, and SI staff will increase each semester). This includes reviewing weekly lesson plans; taking the lead on observations, and providing written/oral feedback after each observation; continue to develop each SI Leaders ability to use a wide variety of learning strategies.

Administrative responsibilities: Under direction of the Director, maintain accurate campus schedule of weekly 150+ weekly hour-long sessions; monitor program OneUSG for SI Leaders; coordinate SI Leader application process, conduct interviews, collaborate with Administrative staff to complete all hiring paperwork. Maintain master list of all past and present SI Leaders. Promote SI through social media. Serve as an EAB Navigate main contact, assisting with training, onboarding, outreach, Course Alert implementation, and other functions related to EAB Navigate.

Supervise the Graduate Assistant (GA), who works with both programs 20 hours per week. Develop and facilitate a meaningful professional development experience for specific SI Assessment procedures, SI Training techniques and best practices in hiring SI Leaders, as well as supervision of csX tutors, and best practices in Tutoring.

Facilitate the training programs for the Supplemental Instruction (SI) leaders and Embedded Tutors. This includes the multi-day Fall training, Spring training, and the biweekly sessions. Bi-weekly trainings contain information to better help student assistants serve the students outcomes and learning. Work with student assistants on specific marketing techniques to facilitate attendance in session.

Proposed Salary

$40,796.00 - $48,000.00 annually. Paid on a monthly basis.
