POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides support and assistance to preschool teachers and school administrators in the use of curricular materials related to preschool programs; ensures compliance of federal, state, and local laws and procedures. Promotes standards-based instruction by modeling, focused observations, and professional learning community activities; supports teachers in using assessment data and analysis of student work to plan and deliver differentiated instruction.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support and assistance to preschool teachers and school administrators in the use of curricular materials related to preschool programs; ensures compliance of federal, state, and local laws and procedures. Promotes standards-based instruction by modeling, focused observations, and professional learning community activities; supports teachers in using assessment data and analysis of student work to plan and deliver differentiated instruction. Provides assistance with research-based strategies that support preschool instruction for special populations including second language learners and students with special needs; identifies and secures appropriate resources for preschool instruction. Provides support and assistance to preschool children and their caregivers through the screening and eligibility processes. Collaborates with representatives from community agencies as needed to facilitate referrals and provide information on community resources to families and caregivers. Designs, delivers, and evaluates targeted professional learning for staff, families, and caregivers, fostering reflective practices and continuous improvement in early childhood instruction and home-school engagement. Stays abreast of current practices related to preschool education and participates in state and local professional development to improve own knowledge. Collects, analyzes, maintains, and reports timely implementation data to evaluate preschool program effectiveness and guide decision-making. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work frequently involves driving automotive equipment.
