ACADEMIC AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN THE TUTORING CENTER

POSITION: Coordinator, Academic Success Center

Description of Duties: 

The Coordinator, Academic Success Center, provides strategic leadership and operational management of the College's Academic Success Center, ensuring the delivery of effective academic support services that advance student success, persistence, and completion. The position supervises tutoring personnel, oversees academic support programming, and partners with faculty and academic departments to align services with institutional goals and curricular needs. The Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates initiatives designed to enhance academic success and improve retention among students with varied academic and support needs, ensures compliance with institutional policies and procedures, and promotes an inclusive, student-focused environment that empowers all learners. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. Oversee Academic Success Center operations, including scheduling workshops, staffing tutors, and allocating resources to ensure effective and efficient academic support demonstrating a strong commitment to customer service and an inclusive learning environment. Develop and implement student success programs and initiatives that enhance academic achievement and retention. Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to align tutoring services with Institutional Learning Outcomes and Course Learning Outcomes. Teach one section of EDUC 1103 College & Life Strategies each Fall and Spring semester. Provide support for concurrent students and promote enrollment conversions to RSC. Coordinate with students and advisors to promote reverse transfer opportunities. Utilize CRM to engage in pro-active outreach campaigns to targeted populations. Collect, analyze, and report data on Academic Success Center utilization, student success outcomes, and program effectiveness to support continuous improvement, institutional effectiveness, strategic decision-making, and accreditation requirements. Monitor and maintain compliance with college policies, FERPA regulations, and accessibility standards. Promote Services through outreach, marketing, and campus events to increase student engagement. Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in tutoring, student success strategies, and educational technology. Prepare and manage the Academic Success Center budget, including purchasing supplies and managing payroll. Serve on college committees and participate in initiatives related to student success and academic support. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the college and the Academic Success Center. Twelve-month professional position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with adjustments as necessary to coordinate training and meetings with staff and faculty. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Student Services, or a related field. Two (2) or more years of experience in academic support services, tutoring, or student success programs. Supervisory experience required. Strong customer services, leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students. Knowledge of tutoring best practices, student success strategies, and academic support models. Ability to lead and motivate staff, analyze data for decision-making, and foster an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners. 

Desired Qualifications: 

Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or a related field. Experience in a community college setting. Familiarity with learning management systems and educational technology. Experience with data analysis and program assessment.
