Description

We seek applicants for a full-time Coordinator on our Enrollment Services team. This position supports the Colleges Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan by developing and implementing recruitment, outreach, and admissions initiatives that connect prospective students with educational opportunities at the College. Reporting to the Associate Director, the Coordinator plays a key role in expanding access to higher education by building relationships with schools, community organizations, employers, and prospective students, with particular focus on traditionally underrepresented, adult, and returning student populations.

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement recruitment and outreach activities and events to promote HCC on and off campus to traditionally underrepresented student populations, adults, and returning students.
  • Provide on-site enrollment services at community organizations and businesses.
  • Communicate with prospective students, parents/guardians, and community members through appointments, telephone, email, and other materials.
  • Monitor and track applications, inquiries, and student enrollment progress.
  • Meet with scheduled on-campus visitors and drop-in students.
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials for the department.
  • Assist with the communication and coordination of department events.
  • Assist with maintaining the HCC Admissions webpages.
  • Participate in College initiatives and/or teams related to the advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Associate degree.
  • Experience in admissions, student recruitment, marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and inclusively with prospective students, school counselors, parents, and community members.
  • Organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and function professionally under pressure.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self starter.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated commitment to access and achievement in education for all students, including but not limited to students of color, students with LGBTQ+ identities, students with disabilities, low-income students, first-generation students, and immigrant students.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with students at the community college level.
  • Knowledge of student development and familiarity with other student personnel areas.
  • Knowledge of local employers and/or social service resources and systems.
  • Familiarity with student information software, preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Acquaintance with and demonstrated ease in promoting Programs of Study.

EMPLOYEE LEAVE

Vacation: 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours); Accrual of 6.16 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period

Sick Leave: 12 days (96 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over; 12 days (96 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 3.70 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period

Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over; 8 hours granted on start date, then annually granted on January 1

Special Leave: Available by approval for bereavement, emergencies, and legal requirements

Parental Leave: 4 weeks (160 hours) for qualifying events, once per 12-month rolling period

Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays, plus 3 paid Floating Holidays (24 hours); Floating Holidays granted on start date, then annually granted on the anniversary date. HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year's Day generally resulting in additional paid days. The College is closed on Election Day (Presidential Election years only)
