This individual participates with the manager in hiring, providing corrective action, and doing formal evaluation of employees. The Clinical Coordinator uses independent judgement in problem solving, takes necessary action to resolve issues, organizes workflow, assigns employees and participates in budget planning and compliance. This individual maintains clinical competency and participates in direct patient care on an episodic basis on the unit to assist in times of high census, as a consult to staff, or in response to emergency situations.

Responsibilities:Serves as a role model for Covenant's Mission, Vison, and Values.

Aligns all activities with unit, department, and institutional performance improvement goals, and channels, resources to high leverage opportunities for performance improvement.
Monitors workflow and makes appropriate changes.

Tracks and provides corrective action and improvement plans for Time and Attendance issues.
Supports the manager and staff in providing patient care. Intervenes in potential problematic interactions involving staff, physicians, patients, and visitors and communicates with team members involving the managers appropriately.
Integrates continual performance improvement into the structure and processes of the unit and the daily practice of team members to achieve desired clinical and fiscal outcomes.
Participates in Quality Assurance measures and in planning and implementing identified improvements.
Investigates and follows up on SafeNet reports.
Participates in strategic planning to improve patient outcomes.
Participates in the development and implementation of strategies to improve employee satisfaction and engagement.
Coaches, mentors, encourages, and motivates employees to work together as an effective team.
Focus on patient rounds, call backs, and staff recognition (i.e. stargrams, shoutouts, recognition board, etc.).
Assists in budget planning and monitoring.
Reviews bi-weekly productivity tools/reports.
Reviews monthly budget reports.
Participates in assigned leadership education.
Communicates with referring to and receiving hospital staff for Neonatal transports.
Chairs or participates in unit committees and task forces. Participates in assigned leadership initiatives/committees.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Nurse with BSN or other health related bachelor's degree.
RN currently pursuing a BSN or health related bachelor's degree may be considered. RN with appropriate neonatal and leadership experience may be considered if they commit to enrolling in a baccalaureate program within one year of hire and completing the program within three years.
Note: An educational agreement must be signed.
Current BLS, NRP, Stable Nursing experience in Neonatal ICU or shall be expected to orientate.
