ICMA is seeking a customer-service-oriented and collaborative Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships to provide operational and administrative support for ICMAs Annual Partnership and Sponsorship programs. This role is responsible for executing sponsor and partner recognition and benefit delivery, producing fulfillment reports, preparing draft sponsorship and partnership agreements, maintaining comprehensive documentation in CRM systems, and providing onsite event support.

The Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships will ensure seamless account management operations while enabling the Directors/ Managers to focus on strategic relationship management and revenue growth.

The selected candidate must be willing to commute to ICMA headquarters on a regular basis, which is conveniently located near Union Station and Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

The salary for the Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships is based on experience, with a range of $78,450 to $98,061.

This position will report directly to the Director, Conferences & Sponsorships.

What Youll Do:

OPERATIONS & FULFILLMENT (40%)

  1. Manage sponsor and partner recognition across all communication channels (website, publications, event materials, email campaigns, social media), ensuring consistency and accuracy to partnership level.

  2. Coordinate fulfillment of sponsorship and partnership benefits, tracking all deliverables through completion and assist as the operational liaison between partners and internal teams.

  3. Produce detailed sponsor and partnership fulfillment reports documenting benefits delivered, engagement metrics, and partner activity for the use in quarterly business reviews.

  4. Serve as operational liaison with internal teams (Outreach, Membership, Innovation & Research) responsible for delivering partnership benefits, ensuring timely execution and resolving issues.

  5. Manage logistics for deliverables (sponsored webinars, blog posts, newsletters and other custom deliverables) including scheduling, production coordination, and post-event follow-up.

ADMINISTRATION & DOCUMENTATION (30%)

  1. Maintain comprehensive sponsorship and partnership records in project management platform, CRM, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timely updates on all partner interactions, deliverables, and contract status.

  2. Prepare draft event sponsorship and partnership agreements and renewal contracts using established templates.

  3. Track contract deadlines, renewal dates, payment schedules, and deliverable timelines.

  4. Maintain partnership program documentation, templates, process guides, and shared resources to ensure operational efficiency and continuity.

  5. Generate routine partnership reports (engagement metrics, benefit delivery status, pipeline tracking) for Partnership Team to use.

RESEARCH & PROSPECT DEVELOPMENT (15%)

  1. Support prospect outreach by preparing customized sponsorship materials, partnership overview decks, and tailored benefit proposals based on research insights.

  2. Maintain prospect database in CRM, tracking outreach activities, conversation notes, and follow-up actions.

  3. Monitor industry news, trade publications, and market trends to identify potential partnership opportunities.

  4. Compile competitive intelligence on other association partnership/sponsorship programs and trends.

EVENT SUPPORT & CONFERENCE COORDINATION (10%)

  1. Assist with sourcing and managing procurement of conference marketing items, sponsor materials, and event promotional products, coordinating with supervisor on budget and vendor selection.

  2. Coordinate pre-event sponsor and partner communication templates, including event details, logistics, meeting schedules, and on-site support resources.

  3. Support on-site event execution as needed.

REPORTING & ANALYSIS SUPPORT (5%)

  1. Compile sponsorship and partnership performance data, engagement metrics, and ROI measurements for quarterly business reviews with partners.

  2. Coordinate audience surveys on sponsor and partner recall, satisfaction, and engagement, managing survey distribution, response tracking, and results compilation and reporting.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Partnership, Hospitality, or Event Management experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Required:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • "White glove" customer service approach with ability to build positive relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently in remote environment
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
  • AI literacy and comfort using AI tools for research and productivity

Preferred/Nice to Have:

  • Experience with CRM platforms
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Monday.com, Asana, or similar)
  • Association, nonprofit, or event coordination experience

The ICMA headquarters is located in Washington, DC. While ICMA operates as a virtual-first organization, that prioritizes flexibility and digital collaboration, we also encourage a hybrid approach, and our D.C. office remains fully operational and available for staff to work onsite. The selected individual must be able to work the core business hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm ET.

A high-speed internet connection is required when working virtually. Personnel will provide the internet service at their own expense. The internet connection must be of sufficient bandwidth to allow the team member to efficiently perform their regular job functions and participate in virtual meetings.
