Bargaining Unit: EA

Rate of Pay: $33.83/hour + DOE

Summary
Coordinates support with the implementation of all Environment of Care (EOC) regulations throughout the hospital system. Provides support for all EOC-related meetings. Supervises/coordinates all required records and information pertinent to the Environment of Care in the areas of Hazardous Materials, Utilities Management, Fire/Life Safety, Building Safety and Medical Equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists to ensure all departments in all facilities are compliant in areas related to the Physical Environment, Life Safety, and Security as per Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) accreditation regulations.
  • Assists with the preparation and maintenance of regulatory documents in the areas of Physical Environment, Fire Life Safety, and Security for constant survey readiness presentation to any Local, County, State, and/or Federal Inspector/Surveyor.
  • Participates and coordinates all Life Safety, Physical Environment, and Security surveys and assists with the development as well as implementation of the Plans of Corrections in a timely manner.
  • Attends all EOC meetings. Shares the responsibility for meeting minutes.
  • Shares the responsibility with the development and maintenance of EOC policies and procedures as well as EOC reports and presentations.
  • Develops operational Alternate Life Safety assessments, implementing/tracking any needed measures.
  • Assists with the scheduling and coordinating all District Physical Environment, Life Safety, and Security regulatory inspection services and oversees corrective measures when necessary.
  • Assists with Emergency Management real events, exercises, and trainings as necessary.
  • Participates in District-wide security maintenance activities. This includes intrusion and panic alarms, camera surveillance, DSX badge/door security.
  • Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
  • Complies with System policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or 1-2 years relevant experience

Required:

  • Must be detailed oriented, have exceptional organizational skills, and be able to work independently with little supervision.

Preferred:

  • Healthcare accreditation survey experience.
  • Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Code, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
