Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION: The Coordinator, Geneva Training Center coordinates the daily operational, logistical, and facility needs of the Geneva Training Center and its training activities. Oversees facility scheduling, operational readiness, staffing, equipment, inventory, armory resources, and related administrative and compliance requirements. Serves as a primary operational contact for agencies, partners, vendors, instructors, and authorized users to ensure safe, effective, and well-coordinated training center operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Coordinates the daily use, scheduling, and operational readiness of classrooms, driving tracks, firearms ranges, and other Geneva Training Center facilities for training programs, events, and authorized users.2. Schedules, trains, directs, and monitors part-time employees to ensure adequate operational coverage and that assigned duties are performed effectively, safely, and in accordance with established procedures.3. Monitors the condition and operational readiness of training facilities, driving tracks, firearms ranges, vehicles, equipment, grounds, and related resources; identifies maintenance and repair needs and coordinates with appropriate staff, vendors, and service providers to address identified needs.4. Manages the Geneva Training Center armory and specialized training resources, including inventory, security, maintenance, repair, readiness, and procurement of firearms, ammunition, spare parts, tools, and other related equipment in accordance with applicable requirements and safety procedures.5. Maintains operational inventories and coordinates the procurement, receipt, organization, storage, and availability of instructional, facility, range, and training resources; identifies equipment and supplies needs and coordinates resources to support scheduled activities.6. Maintains operational records and documentation related to training center activities and applicable Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) requirements; prepares records for audits, reports grades through the Automated Training Management System (ATMS), monitors credentialing records, and coordinates required operational reporting.7. Supports departmental business operations, including budgeting, purchasing, payroll, attendance tracking, leave records, online purchasing, and other administrative functions, in coordination with appropriate departmental staff.8. Serves as a primary point of contact for law enforcement agencies, partner organizations, vendors, instructors, and other authorized users regarding facility use, scheduling, access, and operational needs.9. Identifies operational needs, coordinates resources, resolves facility and logistical issues, and develops solutions within established procedures to maintain safe and effective training center operations.10. Prepares correspondence, reports, meeting materials, certificates, awards, and other departmental documentation; maintains accurate operational records.11. Provides administrative and logistical support, as needed, for Criminal Justice training activities, including enrollment support, academy entry requirements, graduation preparation, student records, certificates, CPR cards, and related documentation.12. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.2. Two years of experience in facility operations, training coordination, program operations, logistics, or a related field.3. One year of supervisory or management experience.4. Experience in handling, storage, inventory, and management of firearms and ammunition.5. Valid Florida driver's license or a valid driver's license from another state with the ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of employment.6. Certified FDLE General Instructor or have the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.2. Experience in Law Enforcement or understanding of law enforcement training activities.3. FDLE-certified high liability instructor in vehicle operations and firearms.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of firearms range operations, safety procedures, and applicable laws, regulations, and requirements. 2. Knowledge of the safe handling, storage, inventory, security, and maintenance of firearms and ammunition. 3. Ability to manage and maintain accurate inventories of firearms, ammunition, equipment, and supplies. 4. Ability to coordinate facility, equipment, maintenance, and operational resources to support training activities.5. Knowledge of the Automated Training Management System (ATMS).6. Ability to maintain rapport with staff at all levels and with law enforcement officials.7. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.8. Excellent planning and organizing skills; ability to anticipate outcomes.9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as critical thinking ability.10. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.11. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.12. Strong facilitation and coordination skills.13. Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced multi-priority environment.14. Ability to successfully develop and manage relationships at all levels of the organization and influence a variety of stakeholders.15. Ability to effectively plan work activities, schedules, priorities, and utilization of resources.16. Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.17. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to become proficient in videoconferencing applications, including Teams/Zoom. 18. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.19. Commitment to working in a multicultural environment.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: 1. Works in an office, classroom, and outdoor training environment and may be exposed to heat, humidity, sun, rain, noise, dust, and other environmental conditions.2. Works in and around firearms ranges, driving tracks, training facilities, vehicles, and specialized equipment and must follow established safety procedures and applicable requirements.3. May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.4. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and other physical activities associated with monitoring and maintaining training center operations.5. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, bend, and operate ground equipment, unassisted.6.
