POSITION OVERVIEW
JOB SUMMARY:
The STEM Program Coordinator supports the goals of the NSF S-STEM grant, UWF STEM Scholars, and the UWF STEM Living Learning Community (STEM LLC) by designing, implementing, and evaluating the Resilient STEM Students Program (RSSP) to enhance student well-being, persistence, and academic success. Drawing on a background in community support and wellness, this position provides non-clinical student support, coordinates academic and wellness programming, and leverages data to guide evidence-based interventions.
Flexible work schedule, with some evenings required for student events. The best fit is someone who does not mind working a flexible schedule.
In accordance with UWF Human Resources Policy HR-20.03-02/25, Recruitment, Selection, and Appointment, a time-limited appointment is a position funded by contract and grant, auxiliary, or local fund, for a project for a specific period. A time-limited position shall have the same rights as a regular position except that the position is not entitled to notice of separation at the expiration of the appointment and shall not have layoff and recall rights.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, education, psychology, student affairs, or STEM field.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in student support, case management, or advising within higher education.
Knowledge of wellness education, survey administration, and program evaluation methodologies.
Familiarity with at-risk or first-generation college student populations preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to interpret and present data for decision-making.
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in using the following applications:
Google drive
Google Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Site
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
Various social media outlets (Facebook and Twitter)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of principles and practice with case management, basic needs, program development and event planning. Strong experience working with undergraduate students on conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills.
