Overview
Since 1972, Covenant House has served and advocated for youth and young families experiencing homelessness, human trafficking, and exploitation. Our overarching goal is to end homelessness among youth and young families by helping them achieve housing stability, heal from trauma, tap into their innate resilience, and hone their interests and skills to forge new pathways to independence. This work is carried out across Covenant House sites in 34 cities in the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.
About the Role
The Coordinator, List Services (Internal title: Coordinator, Development Operations) is responsible for data production for fundraising campaigns, engaging with external consultants on data requirements, supporting process documentation, and providing data management and reporting support for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
In this role, you will report directly to the Associate Vice President, Development Operations (Data), and work closely with the Director, Development Operations (List Services). As part of the internal service team, you will support audience and channel strategies to help maximize fundraising results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to define timing, volume, segmentation, and testing needs for direct mail, digital, telemarketing, special event, and peer-to-peer campaigns
Produce campaign data files, perform quality checks, and generate segment counts for stakeholder approval
Create campaign source codes and ensure final files are properly flagged in the CRM for reporting and contact history tracking
Provide additional data production support for co-op list fulfillment, modeling, and related needs
Help develop process documentation for data file production
Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain the CRM in support of fundraising needs, including source code setup, monitoring, and upkeep
Troubleshoot data issues and work with internal partners to resolve them promptly
Help maintain a report library that supports access to historical and real-time reports, tests, and results
Contribute to how-to documentation for standard list request processes across the Covenant House federation
Run routine reports and data extracts for programs and campaigns as needed
Serve as a subject matter expert on CRM data and reporting for fundraising teams and vendors, offering best-practice guidance and exports as needed
Support data operations by following standards, policies, and procedures, and escalating needed updates to team leaders
Protect donor and client information by maintaining confidentiality
Provide ad hoc data imports and exports as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated analytical and technical problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a virtual environment
Ability to understand data needs from the perspectives of technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
Highly self-motivated with an eye toward opportunities to improve processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or a similar data analysis and reporting tool
Ability to write SQL queries or demonstrated willingness and aptitude to learn SQL
Commitment to and passion for the Covenant House mission
Required Qualifications
3 years of experience in direct marketing data file production, including 2 or more years in digital direct marketing
Experience with data file production including hygiene, merge/purge, segmentation, test splits, and related activities, preferably in a marketing environment with offline channel experience
Proven experience with data conversion, manipulation, cleaning, standardization, and reporting
Familiarity with nonprofit CRMs and fundraising concepts, preferably EveryAction
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel once per year to New York City in early October for our annual in-person traditions
Outside of our annual traditions, this position is 100% remote
