Summary of Position

Designs, plans, and creates mechanisms to set-up, implement and report credit and related programming offered via the OCAT; works with departments and external partners to identify and develop opportunities for additional programming to be offered through OCAT. Coordinates and supports critical functions of College Credit Plus (CCP). Works alongside and collaborates with site leadership at the Steubenville location to promote, further, and ensure the effective and efficient operation of the YSU Steubenville location.

Position Information

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The scope of these responsibilities is commensurate with current Steubenville location operations and will be reviewed and updated as programs and services expand.

Generates student credit hours through work with academic departments and external partner organizations and institutions.

Develops and implements program plans for recruitment and delivery of CCP programming. Coordinates logistical elements and provides customer relations. Implements application and registration processes, and student onboarding sessions at remote sites.

Coordinates with YSU main campus for the onboarding of CCP students.

Collaborates with others to increase CCP students' matriculation to YSU.

Coordinates with YSU main campus regarding marketing materials for the Jefferson County region they serve.

Provides short-term support to prospective and current students. Liaises with student enrollment services to provide support in the areas of financial aid, registration and billing.

Conducts information sessions for students and parents to advise them about the opportunities, benefits, and consequences of dual enrollment coursework.

Administers course placement testing services, including group testing administration, on campus to students and at remote sites to CCP students; assists with administering major specific testing to YSU students, as needed. Works with YSU Testing Center on administration requirements including but not limited to adhering to departmental and/or external testing regulations and procedures, ensuring security of test materials, monitoring of students while testing, and maintaining an appropriate testing environment.

Advises and assists current and prospective CCP students regarding interpretation of placement assessment, development of desired career and academic goals, and course scheduling and registration.

Regularly monitors advisees' progress, including responding to CRM Advise alerts. Serves as an advocate to help students navigate college policies and procedures. Collaborates with student support areas as needed to direct students to additional academic support services.

Develops and executes appropriate follow-up to prospective students, parents, and other necessary stakeholders in Jefferson County.

Assists in transitioning advisees to college-based advising upon indication of degree attainment while in high school.

Coordinates with and monitors progress of internal and external stakeholders each academic year on various program items, including but not limited to MOUs, course planning forms, course schedules, CRN requests/verifications, self-pay students, non-public school funding letters, and bookstore student lists each term; escalates issues and ensures resolution in coordination with YSU main campus leadership as appropriate.

Maintains student files, records, and data in accordance with federal, state, and university regulations.

Coordinates with YSU main campus in the development of marketing materials including, but not limited to, news releases, brochure copy, social media, and websites.

Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of overall goals and objectives.

Identifies and explores funding opportunities; supports grant-writing activity.

Gathers data, prepares/writes, and submits reports as requested.

Teaches a student success seminar (YSU 1500) during the academic year as needed. Works with First Year Student Services on course content and delivery.

Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires.

Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.

Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Travels as required. Potential for early mornings, late evenings, and occasional Saturdays.

Supervision Exercised: Supervision is exercised over student employees.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Required proctor training to administer computer-based placement and major specific testing services. Valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of: university policies and procedures; office practices and procedures; department/division goals and objectives; department/division policies and procedures; workplace safety practices and procedures; English grammar and spelling; records management; office management.

Skill in: oral and written communication skills; project design and management; use of office equipment; typing, data entry; computer operation; use of computer software and other programs applicable to the assigned department/division*.

Ability to: ability to relate well with faculty and academic administrators, as well as students from high school to graduate level; collaborate with partners;maintain records according to established procedures; effectively interact with personnel and public to answer routine questions.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelors degree. At least three years of experience working in high school and/or college scheduling, testing and advising and/or experience with guidance counseling procedures in a higher education or high school setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in education or related field; experience with technology including audience response systems, Apple products, and presentation equipment. One or more years working in the College Credit Plus program either with students or school counselors.
