Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Student Affairs and the guidance of the Assistant Dean for Student Services, the Academic and Student Affairs Advisor is responsible for assisting with the management of the Office of Student Affairs at the School of Nursing's Off Campus Instructional Site: Baton Rouge ("OCIS-BR"). This position is responsible for preparation, origination and maintenance of student records in the School of Nursing OCIS-BR. This position requires the incumbent to provide coordination of day-to-day office activities; maintains an information management system (and update accordingly to work processes and changes in programs, policies & procedures), and student curriculum and progression advising that allows faculty and staff to have easy access to pertinent information regarding student data, procedures, forms, and reports; and maintenance of student databases.
Job Duties:
35%- Quality Control/Compliance Prepares and maintains student data required for completion of the annual report, requirements of internal and external regulatory bodies: LSBN, AACN, NLN, Grad Report, and accrediting bodies: SACSCOC, CCNE, and COA [and other reporting bodies as required]. Assists the Office of Student Affairs with the annual report and the development and implementation of departmental annual budgets related to OCIS-BR. Prepare, manage & maintain reports reflecting historical financial and related student data. Assists in the management and reconciliation of OCIS-BR departmental budgets and scholarship awards for quarterly and annual reporting. Assist the Director of the Office of Student Affairs in managing human resources activities related to OCIS-BR Student Affairs, encompassing employee recruitment, training and evaluation. Assists the Director of the Office of Student Affairs with monitoring the standards and policies of the School of Nursing to ensure OCISBR Student Affairs conformance with those of the LSUHSC, University System, and with State and Federal regulations. 30%- Academic Advisory Responsibilities Assist students in developing and achieving academic goals in meeting progression and graduation requirements. Establishes time lines and prioritize work assignments to meet the needs of the School of Nursing. Verifies Graduation Candidates through a degree audit. Obtains approval from the Admission, Progression, and Graduation (AP&G) Committee and Undergraduate and Graduate Councils. Assists with the coordinated activities related to admissions, which includes, but not limited to, reviewing and verifying all admissions applications for completeness, collection & deposit of application & confirmation fees, organizing all admissions committee meetings, preparing applicant reports, advising applicants, conducting presentations, scheduling interviews, notifying accepted applicants, and coordinate with the Office of Student Affairs notifying the Registrar's Office of admissions decisions. Assists the Director of the Office of Student Affairs in the design & maintenance of record management systems and educates admission coordinators and other staff on the implementation and utilization of systems. Assists in the development of a record retention/disposition system in accordance with the State of Louisiana and LSUHSC Records Retention Policy. Essential.
30%- Programmatic/Student Activities Works with the Director of the Office of Student Affairs (in collaboration with the Director of OCIS-BR) to coordinate major student events such as preregistration, level orientations, information sessions, graduation activities, career planning and student success programs; Plan and coordinate Undergraduate and Graduate orientations in conjunction with the Assistant Dean for Student Services; Works in conjunction with Program Directors to manage the enrollment plan for each program. Assists in the development, management and maintenance of admissions materials, including transfer guides for local and state feeder programs, applications, and applicant information in both paper and web formats to ensure accuracy and consistency of information. Oversees website management related to Student Affairs at OCIS-BR. Ensures updated postings Faculty Advisor and student organization and class officer lists are current. Essential.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business/ Education/ Admission or related field.
5 years experience in professional work experience in business or education.
