Job Title Coordinator of First-Year Writing (Internal Hire) Position Summary
Incoming college students face an increasingly complex set of academic challenges, from widening gaps in post-secondary writing readiness to the rapid integration of emerging technologies like generative AI. Mandatory introductory composition courses-ENG 1301 and ENG 1302-serve as the foundation for undergraduate academic success, critical thinking, and institutional retention.
To ensure instructional consistency, elevate course quality, and systematically track student learning outcomes, the director will provide dedicated pedagogical leadership, comprehensive programmatic assessment, and targeted faculty mentorship, serving as a vital bridge between first-year academic initiatives and institutional student success goals.
The person in this position will be Director of First-Year Writing and teach 3 courses each semester.

A Master's or Ph.D. in English, preferably with a specialty in writing.
