Job Description: Coordinator of Grounds and Maintenance

Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Grounds and Maintenance provides hands-on leadership for all campus groundskeeping, landscaping, turf management, irrigation systems, exterior aesthetics, and direct support for general building maintenance and small-to-medium facilities projects. The coordinator ensures Hill Colleges Hillsboro and Cleburne campuses remain safe, beautiful, functional, and welcoming year-round, directly contributing to student recruitment, retention, pride, and the colleges mission of operational excellence.
Minimum Required Education: Associate's degree, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum Required Experience: Four (4) years' grounds and building maintenance experience
Core Duties and Required Knowledge: • Supervise grounds and maintenance staff (full-time, part-time, student workers); conduct training, safety meetings, evaluations, and scheduling. • Knowledge of facility, grounds, vehicle, and custodial operations. • Serve as primary on-site coordinator for college events-setup/teardown of tents, staging, parking, signage, and post-event cleanup. • Understanding of Hill College's mission and operational procedures. • Ability to support maintenance projects and provide ancillary assistance as needed.
Strategic Vision and Program Development: • Enhance campus aesthetics and functionality to support student success • Contribute to long-term facilities master planning and capital project input • Prepares bids for supplies and facility improvement projects
Collaboration: • Serves as liaison with vendors and internal departments • Partner with Athletics, Event Services, and Campus Police for seamless game-day and commencement support • Supports the Director in district-wide physical plant operations and inspections • Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment that provides a sense of belonging for all

Other Information: Security-sensitive position. Available for campus emergencies and special event support
Physical Requirements: Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for medium work.
