The Student Counseling Center is seeking a Coordinator of Prevention Services and Addictions Counselor to plan, develop and carry out initiatives in substance use, suicide prevention programs; create and manage the center's prevention work-plan; create and participate in public speaking presentations in the residence halls, the USD Greek system, and other student organizations; work with student staff and para-professionals in prevention planning; oversee the delivery of substance use prevention programming and serve as the Prevention Specialist Advisor to any on-campus task forces. If certified/licensed in Chemical Dependency, will spend up to 35% time in delivery of services including assessment, treatment planning, and treatment to persons with substance use concerns/disorders. Evening and weekend work is required on an as needed basis. Some travel within the state for meetings and programming is required. Knowledge of grant processes is a plus.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in ADAS, counseling, health services, or a related field (with addiction counseling specialization) required. Must have the basic courses approved by the SD Board of Addiction Counseling and Professionals for trainee status in Addictions Counseling. Prefer candidate who is certified/licensed as an Addictions Counselor in South Dakota.
