Coordinator of Testing Services and Office Operations

Summary:

The Coordinator of Testing Services and Office Operations in conjunction with the Director of Accessibility Services and the Assistant Director of Accessibility Services, supervises and manages alternative testing services for Skidmore’s students with documented disabilities.  This position is responsible for assisting with managing the Accessible Information Management (AIM) system, supervising the collection of exam material and the process for administering exams for students and the safekeeping and return procedures of testing materials.   Additionally, the position oversees daily operations and functions of the testing center and the office of The Learning Commons.  

Primary Job Duties:

• Assist with the management of the Accessible Information Management (AIM) system.  AIM is a computer program that interfaces with faculty, students and the Learning Commons to manage academic accommodations and process requests for testing accommodations for students with disabilities.  The population of students with disabilities is now 25% of Skidmore’s student population and The Learning Commons routinely administers nearly 1,000 examinations per semester. 
• Coordinates and supervises the collection of exam materials, the administration of exams, and the return of exam materials to faculty. This involves hiring, training and supervising a team of student workers capable of working with students with disabilities and handling confidential material. 
• In conjunction with staff, oversees the daily operations of the office of The Learning Commons.  This space is currently a separate location from the testing center, and involves assisting in hiring, training and supervising a second team of student workers responsible for answering phones, overseeing the open lab and study spaces, and reception services. 
• In collaboration with the Associate Dean and the Directors in The Learning Commons, prepares and manages the Accessibility Services, The Learning Commons and the International Student and Scholar Services budgets, maintains the Learning Commons web site materials, and assists to coordinate Learning Commons liaison with Athletic coaches and student athletes. 
• Provides guidance to students, particularly target student populations which include international students, students of color, student athletes, and students with disabilities, and parents, regarding college resources and policies and procedures. 
• Other responsibilities include coordinating note taking and transcription services for eligible students with disabilities, assisting to coordinate International Student and Scholar’s annual International Student Orientation (ISO), hiring, training and supervising summer office workers, producing annual reports, and maintaining essential data regarding Learning Commons operations.  The position also assists the Associate Dean in the management and maintenance of endowed, advancement and grant funds. 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, preferably in the field of human services or management.

Experience: 3-5 years. Experience working in an office setting, preferably in higher education.

Salary: $24.50 - $27.00 per hour
