    The Coordinator of The Gamecock CommUnity Shop manages the daily operations of the CommUnity shop, ensuring students have consistent access to food and essential basic need resources in a welcoming, organized, and student-centered environment. The incumbent oversees inventory management, pantry operations, volunteer coordination and student engagement while supporting the universitys commitment to reducing barrier to student success.

    Primary Duties Include:

    • Coordinates resource recruitment, delivery, communication, and operational management for the Gamecock CommUnity Shop and associated basic needs initiatives serving the University community.
    • Manages daily operations of the Gamecock CommUnity Shop to ensure spaces are open, accessible, staffed, clean, organized, and fully stocked for student use.
    • Oversees recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, supervision, and recognition of student staff and volunteers supporting front desk and operations.
    • Leads engagement, retention, and appreciation efforts for student leaders, volunteer groups, community partners, and students participating in Beyond the Classroom Matters (BTCM) experiences.
    • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with on- and off-campus stakeholders that support a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and integrated approach to addressing student basic needs, including financial, housing, and food insecurity
    • Collaborates with community partners, including organizations such as Harvest Hope Food Bank and Food Lion Feeds, to coordinate food access initiatives, inventory support, and resource distribution efforts.

    Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters degree in Student Services, Hospitality, Retail, or related field and 1 year related experience or Bachelors degree and 3 years related experience in student affairs, or student development capacities or in social services, social work, hospitality, retail, or volunteer coordination
    • Knowledge of inventory management, customer service, and program coordination. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, volunteers and community partners.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Knowledge of basic-needs support services, food pantry operations, and resources that address food insecurity and other barriers to student success.
    • Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
    • Knowledge of recordkeeping, data collection, and reporting related to program participation and resource utilization.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong inventory management and attention-to-detail skills, including tracking stock levels, expiration dates, donations, purchases, and distributions.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, particularly when working with students from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Skills in volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision.
