Job Title: Coordinator, Patient Support Services - Pulmonary
Division: Medicine
Work Arrangement: Onsite only
Location: Houston, TX
Salary Range: $39,150 - $46,059
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Summary
The Department of Medicine is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Coordinator, Patient Support Services to connect patients with clinical teams and departments while addressing barriers such as scheduling, access, and follow up needs.
This role will be working with the General Pulomary Clinic. This position is an extension of the clinical support team and helps with care coordination.
Job Duties
- Coordinates scheduling, inpatient workflows, and daily operational activities to support smooth patient care delivery
- Handles pre/post encounter coordination.
- Completes prior authorizations
- Answers patient inbound questions/calls.
- Coordinates existing appointments & rescheduling if needed,
- Provides physicians, supervisors, and clinic leaders with administrative support,
- Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, clinical staff, administrative teams, and external healthcare partners to ensure consistent communication and seamless clinical and clinic‑support operation.
- Follows up on a high volume of inbound patient requests.
- Works directly with clinical staff to assist in active schedule management and care coordination.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting.
