The opportunity:
Performs scheduling functions associated with freight within the Logistics department. Responsible for managing and delivering a production schedule, which meets both the requirements of our customers, carriers, and optimized factory efficiency. This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.
The role
- Fields phone calls and emails related to scheduling needs and appointment confirmations.
- Organizes workflow and appointments by reading and routing correspondence, collecting customer information, and managing assignments.
- Inputs customer data into WM (Warehouse Management System) and distributes all pertinent information to Logistics Clerks in the form of customer folders.
- Manages Distribution shipping schedule by maintaining calendar to ensure corporate goals are met.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Resolves any issues with customers by phone or email.
- Provides historical reference by utilizing filing and retrieval system.
- Manages outbound consolidated shipments to foreign vendors.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
The requirements
- High School Diploma
- 0-3 Years Relevant Experience
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with Customs highly desired
- Good verbal and written communication required
- Basic experience with a warehouse management system (WMS) experience preferred
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced and team-oriented environment
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for most of a work day
- Vision is required to complete necessary work tasks
- Hearing is required to hear instructions, receive information, and understand safety warnings
- Must be able to read, speak and understand English language effectively
