    Student Life and Recruitment Coordinator

    Department: Student Services

    Reports To: Director of Outreach and Recruitment

    Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Staff

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    About the Position

    Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused professional to serve as our Student Life and Recruitment Coordinator. This position plays a key role in creating an engaging campus environment while helping prospective students discover everything WPCC has to offer.

    The Student Life and Recruitment Coordinator supports student engagement, campus activities, recruitment, and retention by coordinating student programs, advising student organizations, assisting with enrollment initiatives, and representing the College throughout our service area. This position works collaboratively across the institution to create meaningful experiences that help students feel connected, supported, and successful from their first interaction with the College through graduation.

    What Youll Do

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Coordinate campus activities, student events, clubs, and organizations that promote student engagement and success.
    • Advise the Student Government Association (SGA) and support student leadership development.
    • Assist with planning and implementing new student orientation and retention initiatives.
    • Coordinate recruitment events, campus tours, and outreach activities both on and off campus.
    • Represent WPCC at area high schools, community events, college fairs, and other recruitment opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to promote academic programs, student services, and campus events.
    • Assist with strategic enrollment and recruitment initiatives.
    • Help manage Student Activities resources and budgets.
    • Build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, schools, and community partners.
    • Participate in College committees, professional development, and other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Required

    • Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight travel as required.
    • Valid drivers license with the ability to travel throughout the Colleges service area.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred

    • Bachelors degree.
    • Experience in student affairs, admissions, recruitment, higher education, event planning, or related field.
    • Experience working with social media, marketing, or student engagement initiatives.
    • Knowledge of community colleges and student development practices.
