A successful Packager prepares product for shipment both manually and via electric powered industrial equipment with lifting devices such as motorized pallet jack and/or reach truck. Packagers prepare and packages customer product in a safe and efficient manner while following the instruction of the Line Lead and Quality Lead. Will follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

Requirements ------------

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills
  • Must be able to work in a varied fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand for long periods of time
  • Follow all standards of PPE in the distribution center, for example, wearing steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, safety vest, or any other standards provided by site leadership

Responsibilities ----------------

### Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performing the duties described below in accordance with applicable company safety, customer, and regulatory requirements.

### Pre-Operation Checks

Prior to using equipment, performs operations and safety checks using a checklist. Signs off on the checklist certifying the equipment is safe to operate or immediately notifies the supervisor of any variances from acceptable standards.

### Equipment Operation

Safely operates all equipment in the assigned area.

### Order Fulfillment

Utilizes pick sheet, customer order, work order, shipping order, or facility WMS acquisition device to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed from temperature-controlled or non-controlled rooms.

### Product Handling

Removes product to be shipped from designated pick locations by hand and/or powered industrial equipment.

### Product Selection

Selects product using WMS according to predetermined sequence, such as product code, expiration date FIFO, where required, and/or other requirements.

### Palletizing and Shipping

Places order on pallets or transports order to a packing, wrapping, or shipping station by hand and/or powered industrial equipment.

### Product Identification

Marks product picked with proper identifying information and compiles tally sheet or ticket from customer specifications.

### Material Counting

Counts product and records amounts of materials or items to be shipped for shipper verification and conformance to company standards in preparation for shipment. Goal is zero overshort.

### Replenishment and Maintenance

Replenishes pick locations from stock by hand or via powered industrial equipment.

### Battery Maintenance

Changes powered industrial truck batteries.

### Cleanliness and Housekeeping

Practices clean as you go housekeeping to maintain a neat and orderly work area.

### Compliance and Safety

Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

### Other Duties

Other duties as assigned.

Schedule --------

  • Monday to Thursday: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am
  • Saturday: OT as needed

Pay Rate --------

  • $16.00 per hour plus $0.50 cent shift differential
