Copper Brazing & Pipe Assembly Technician
Pay: $19/hr
Shift: Monday–Thursday (6:00am–4:30pm); occasional overtime on Fridays.
A day in the role
Start your morning on the production floor, blueprint in hand, prepping pipe runs for assembly. You’ll measure twice (to the 1/8 inch), cut and bend with a Hydraulic Pipe Bender, and bring fittings together using an acetylene/oxygen torch. Throughout the day you’ll rotate through related stations—assembly, paint, wire, or weld—building your skill set while helping complete high‑quality units on schedule.
What you’ll do
- Learn and perform assembly and installation of piping in units in a timely, productive manner.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe using a Hydraulic Pipe Bender.
- Assemble and install metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
- Train and contribute across manufacturing areas (assembly, paint, wire, and weld).
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Prior brazing experience and proficiency with an acetylene and oxygen torch set.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Accurate measurement skills using a tape measure to 1/8 inch.
- Competence with common hand tools.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Pass Interview Assessment - HAVE TO BRAZE A HOLE IN A COPPER PIPE AND FILL A STRAIGHT VALVE
