UCT is looking for a talented Copper Chemline Technician II to join our Services (SSB) team in Phoenix, AZ!

The Copper Chemline Technician II performs chemical and manual processing of semiconductor chamber parts within UCT’s ultra-high purity (UHP) cleaning and coating services environment. This role supports critical customer operations by delivering consistent, contamination-controlled processing that enables improved tool uptime and process performance.

The Technician II ensures compliance with strict safety and environmental regulations while handling hazardous chemicals and supporting high-volume, fast-turn semiconductor service operations. By maintaining a clean, safe work area and adhering to SOPs and cleanroom standards, this role contributes to efficient turnaround times and high-quality output for semiconductor customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process semiconductor chamber parts utilizing chemical and manual cleaning methods in a high-purity services environment.
  • Perform receiving, processing, wiping, scrubbing, masking, copper-specific chemical processing, machine operation, etching, blasting, coating, drying, and baking as required.
  • Support ultra-high purity cleaning and coating processes designed to reduce contamination and improve part performance.
  • Follow all SOPs, contamination control practices, Lean manufacturing processes, and company policies.
  • Complete required process and safety training, including hazardous chemical handling and disposal.
  • Maintain daily organization, 6S standards, and cleanliness of assigned process area, including cleanroom practices when applicable.
  • Meet production goals aligned with fast turnaround expectations typical of semiconductor service operations.
  • Attend safety meetings and actively participate in UCT safety programs.
  • Accurately document work and maintain traceability for processed parts.
  • Demonstrate strong task management, organization, and ability to communicate production status.
  • Maintain a high level of safety, environmental awareness, and contamination control discipline.
  • Continuously seek to expand skills across processes in the chemline and broader SSB operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform repetitive, detail-oriented work in high-purity, contamination-sensitive processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to support high-throughput service operations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends or overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to wear required cleanroom gowning (hairnet, frock, PPE).
  • Understanding of 6S, contamination control, and semiconductor cleanliness standards preferred.
  • Ability to take SPC measurements and accurately log process data.

Educational/Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED or related field preferred.
  • AA degree in a technical field or some college preferred.
Experience Requirements:
  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, processing, or chemical handling (semiconductor or related industry preferred).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience preferred.
  • Experience in parts cleaning, coating technologies, or semiconductor service environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience with chemline processing (including copper-specific processes) is highly desired.
  • Lean / Kaizen training is a plus.
  • Media blasting and/or surface preparation experience preferred.
  • Quality Assurance or contamination control experience is a plus.
  • Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and cleanroom service environment supporting semiconductor customers, including exposure to chemicals and process equipment.
  • Requires adherence to PPE and contamination control protocols.
