We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports. The position requires a deep understanding of financial reporting, Deltek, year-end audit procedures, and the construction industry.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in compliance with GAAP standards.
• Utilize Deltek CostPoint to manage and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports regarding net revenue losses and gains, operating costs, and other expenses.
• Develop and implement effective systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
• Work closely with the project management team to create financial plans and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Assist with the preparation of annual audits.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proficient in Deltek CostPoint or equivalent accounting software.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing financial computations and reports.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
