Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 650+ provider multispecialty group practice. Core Faculty members of the MSI - Saint Alphonsus Nampa Family Medicine Residency Program report to the Program Director for all matters pertaining to curriculum and resident education. All Core Faculty are jointly responsible for contributing to the Core Family Medicine Curriculum. The majority of core faculty will also have an area of the curriculum for which they are principally responsible. At times, a Core Faculty may be hired specifically to oversee an area of the curriculum and/or may be assigned an area of the curriculum according to the needs of the program and the unique expertise and interest of the faculty. Core Faculty will collaborate with the leadership of our partner institutions and other faculty to ensure integration of the curriculum across the various clinic, didactic and elective experiences.
Key Responsibilities for all Core Faculty:
Role model high-quality inpatient, outpatient and/or combined inpatient and outpatient care in our Family Medicine Residency Clinic and the Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Nampa hospital
Supervision of residents in the inpatient, outpatient, and/or combined inpatient and outpatient setting
Supervision in the Family Medicine Residency Clinic, including outpatient Family Medicine procedures
Supervision of residents in the inpatient setting
Core Faculty may elect to practice in the inpatient or outpatient setting only, if desired
Participation in specialty procedural or focused clinics such as colposcopy, pregnancy options, and endoscopy; based on applicants skills and interests
Serve as a faculty advisor for up to 4 residents during their three years of training, including multiple yearly meetings
Oversight of an area of the curriculum and/or rotations (to be determined at the time of hiring based on program needs and interest of faculty member)
Didactic sessions/presentations on topics in your area of expertise
Attendance at regular meetings, examples of which include: faculty meetings, Residency Clinic business meetings, faculty development, GMEC, monthly Program Meetings, All-Residency and Faculty Retreats
Evaluation of residents to support ongoing feedback for residents development and to support the biannual completion of Milestones evaluations required by the ACGME
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine residency program.
Board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment).
Obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy & DEA
Evidence of scholarly activity is desirable
Current or past experience teaching medical students or residents is desirable
Current or past experience creating educational curricula is desirable

Status: Part Time (0.6 FTE inclusive of admin duties in support of program, as well as teaching/supervision of residents in clinical setting)
