- 5+ years of accounting/finance management experience including reporting, budgeting or forecasting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work successfully across all organizational levels
- Strong time management skills
- Proven experience effectively leading a team
Desired- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Any previous accounting/finance related positions (i.e., assistant controller or controller)
- Any prior Kroger division experience
- CPA certification and/or MBA
- Serve as the primary point of contact for financial leadership within the Merchandising department and Accounting/Finance
- Participate as an active member of the department leadership team in strategy development, operations management and ownership of results
- Compile financial reports and various analytics to drive success for the long-term plan developed for a merchandising department
- Advise the department leadership of implications of past and forecasted results on division's financial plan and Restock Kroger
- Prepare the financial information which will be presented by department leadership in Merchandising to various audiences
- Design financial best practices that can be leveraged across multiple divisions
- Oversee and manage the Progress Report Process within Essbase for a department to ensure proper execution, reporting accuracy and business alignment
- Prepare department budgets accurately, ensure timely information is available to divisions
- Guide and instruct the department on proper handling of financial transactions and ensure accounting policies/procedures are being followed
- Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement, lead updates and redesigns to existing templates; compile financial models for new lines of businesses, store formats or acquisitions
- Present financial models and analytics to Capital Committee on investment opportunities within the department
- Develop new financial processes aligned to strategic initiatives to drive success
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties, complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Travel to meet with executive leaders, internal/external partners, and other stakeholders
