We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. In this role, you will take ownership of core general accounting functions—including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, and sub-ledger reviews—while playing a key role in accelerating our month-end close process. Responsibilities:
FINANCIAL OPERATIONS & LEDGER MANAGEMENT
|
General Ledger: Prepare and post precise journal entries, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Sub-Ledger Oversight: Coordinate and review accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities to ensure accuracy and alignment. Month-End Close: Collaborate cross-functionally to drive an efficient monthly close process, ensuring all deadlines are met. Account Analysis: Analyze general ledger accounts and assist in resolving discrepancies and unusual items. Accruals & Prepaids: Review and record accruals, prepaid expenses, and deferrals on a monthly basis. Fixed Assets: Assist with tracking, reconciling, and maintaining fixed asset records and related depreciation. Intercompany Transactions: Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure proper eliminations.

ANALYSIS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT |
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Conduct rigorous analysis of balance sheet accounts, taking proactive ownership of variances and implementing process improvements. Profit Center Review: Perform monthly variance analysis on assigned profit center income statements, identifying trends and anomalies. Trend Analysis: Monitor financial trends and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights and support decision-making. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls. Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and workpapers. Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as requested by management. |
REPORTING &COMPLIANCE
Management Reporting: Prepare and distribute clear, comprehensive financial reports tailored for corporate leadership and operations teams. Budget Support: Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts; analyze variances to actual results. Audit Readiness: Serve as a key contributor during the annual external audit, preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation. Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures. Tax Support: Assist with sales tax, property tax, and other tax filings as required. Business Partnership: Act as a financial advisor to field and operational management, supporting data-driven business decisions. |
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Experience: 2–5 years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience. |
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES |
ERP Systems: Experience with Lawson (Corporate Accountant) or Yardi (Real Estate Accountant). Data Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including XLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables) and Power BI, along with experience utilizing AI tools, is highly preferred. |

We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $65,606.58 - 87,475.44 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
