US Operations OfficeCordova, TN 38018, USATravel Required : YesDescriptionAs a member of the Corporate Accounting Team, you will provide analytical and accounting support on a variety of topics, while learning and understanding all components of our accounting cycles for various corporate divisions within West Fraser. Once you have developed an understanding of our operations and policies, you will have the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in a specific area of our business. As a subject matter expert, you will become the go-to person for financial information including training other accountants and preparing reports for senior members of the finance team.Key Responsibilities:Prepare journal entries and perform other month-end, quarterly and annual accounting tasks.Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and complete analytical reviews of income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and validity of transactions.Support corporate functions and FP&A in budgeting and forecasting and in ensuring actual spend is accounted for properly.Perform SOX controls and provide support in both the external and internal audits.Work with others in Finance and other internal groups to improve accounting processes.Ensure compliance with company policies and SOX standards.Special projects and other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.Two+ years' experience in accounting a plus.Plans to obtain CPA or already licensed, a plus.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Oracle, JDE or comparable ERP system preferred.Thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles.A high level of independence, accountability, teamwork, good judgement, and attention to detail in a fast-paced changing environmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbalOur highly competitive compensation package and outstanding benefits include:Benefits starting Day 1Competitive starting payOn-the-job trainingA culture that strongly believes in promoting from withinMedicalVision401k with company matching & retirement contributionEmployee Stock Purchase planLife InsuranceDisability InsurancePaid vacations and holidaysEmployee Assistance ProgramWest Fraser is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D & Drug-Free Workplace (DFW)This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
