Corporate Accounting Manager 

Our company is experiencing rapid growth operating in the nutritional supplement and health manufacturing sector. We are seeking an experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to join our accounting and finance team. This is a fast-paced working environment with strong leadership, a highly motivated team, and fun but challenging projects and tasks. 

The most successful candidate will lean on a robust foundational accounting background to correctly record, consolidate and analyze financial transactions across a complex global multi-entity framework, while leading the accounting and financial reporting process, overseeing global payroll processing, and administering the company’s employee credit card program. He or she will play a critical supporting role to the Controller, the Finance & Accounting organization, and other stakeholders across the business. This is a full-time salaried position.

Salary Range:  $100,000 - $120,000

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead a team of 1-2 experienced staff in their growth, development and quality of finished work product
  • Own the internal control framework, subledger maintenance and reconciliation responsibility for a suite of balance sheet accounts in compliance with US GAAP, ensuring account variances and control risks are investigated and corrective action taken immediately 
  • Oversee full general ledger operations, including complex journal entries and accruals as part of time sensitive month-end close with fully documented audit trail; articulate budget variances and rationale for accounting estimates to finance leadership
  • Execute monthly consolidation procedures, ensuring all intercompany sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), profits, loan interest, and ending balances are fully eliminated
  • Administer a multi-entity credit card program from user experience, card management, fraud risk, ERP integration, and complete reconciliation of posted expense reports to statement of charges
  • Supervise payroll administration in the execution of pay processing, payroll compliance, benefits audits, and payroll funding, including accurate wage and benefit accounting entries in the general ledger
  • Act as direct liaison with external auditors, tax preparers and key stakeholders as required, supplying structured consolidation working papers, supporting schedules and footnote support for external audits
  • Partner with manufacturing finance to complete and review cost accounting entries, inventory reports, and oversight of third-party inventory observations and counts
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and other analyses to Controller and Finance on as needed basis
  • Enhance current processes and workflows and make recommendations to ensure more efficient and productive results through automation and ingenuity
  • Serve as a cultural sponsor for team engagement and promote the innovation and success of the accounting and finance organization using positive and constructive actions and dialogue 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (CPA or MBA preferred) and 3-5 years escalating work experience in a comparable job function 
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities and carry out day-to-day responsibilities with little or no supervision
  • Experience leading and mentoring a small team in line with company goals/vision
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written and communications skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work an issue independently from start to finish 
  • General computer proficiency and technological adequacy in ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage and Avid knowledge is a plus)
