Our client, a real estate management company with an established portfolio, is scaling its operations. They're hiring a Corporate Accounting Manager to lead the financial operations of the management company and its general partner entities. This person will oversee the corporate P&L, manage complex compensation structures, and oversee the firm's financial reporting and workflow systems. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of accounting, operations, and technology.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Opportunity to step into a leadership role that is high-visibility and has direct access to senior leadership.
  • The firm is actively automating and optimizing its workflows - and you'll shape how those systems work.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting activity for the management company and general partner entities, including intercompany billing and consolidated financial results.
  • Maintain and improve risk assessment processes across firm operations, including A/P and expense reporting controls within the firm's investment management and expense platforms.
  • Calculate and track firm-wide compensation mechanics, including bonus accruals, carried interest, and partner capital account reporting.
  • Manage the reimbursable expense workflow to ensure deal-related costs are accurately allocated across the management company, investment funds, and properties.
  • Use data tools to automate manual reporting processes and build out firm-wide KPI dashboards; manage the flow of information between the investment management platform and corporate reporting systems.
  • Produce monthly management reports comparing actuals to budget, and support leadership with liquidity analysis and corporate profitability insights.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and contribute to broader financial analysis activities.
  • Partner with other departments to build financial operational processes that serve firm-wide business needs and respond to internal requests promptly.
  • Serve as the internal SME for the firm's core finance platforms, ensuring they're fully utilized for firm operations.
  • Train and develop corporate accounting staff; build a team culture centered on continuous learning.
  • Take on special projects across strategy and systems implementation as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of accounting experience, either in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and commercial real estate
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license
  • Proficient in Yardi, Concur
  • Experience with MS 365, Power BI, Alteryx, or Tableau
  • Working knowledge of management company accounting, carry structures, partner distributions, and expense allocation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
