Job Title: Corporate Attorney
Location: Remote role
Duration: 6 12 months
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Corporate Attorney to support a key, time-sensitive, cross-border project requiring close collaboration across Legal and multiple business functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision, leveraging strong commercial and transactional legal experience to drive workstreams forward, identify risks early, and provide practical business-oriented solutions.
This role requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to provide regular status updates and brief senior leadership on project progress, risks, and next steps.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including:
- Reinsurance agreements
- Captive reinsurance agreements
- Intercompany agreements
- Distribution and marketing agreements
- Third-party administrative services agreements
- Support commercial initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist with general corporate matters, including record-keeping, resolutions, and subsidiary management as needed.
- Support regulatory filings and submissions where required.
- Collaborate with legal colleagues across the U.S. and global regions.
- Provide legal analysis considering multi-jurisdictional legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Partner with internal business stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Coordinate with internal and external counsel across jurisdictions.
Required Qualifications- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with 7+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state or Canadian provincial bar (or equivalent).
- Experience within insurance or other regulated industries.
- Strong commercial contracting and transactional law experience.
- Ability to work effectively across jurisdictions and global time zones.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior in-house legal experience.
- Experience supporting cross-border transactions and global legal operations.
